Istria
Istria is incredibly beautiful. Beauty is found in the splendor of prehistoric forts, ancient monuments, medieval towns, the landscape, sea, people, villages and cities. It is the best developed tourist destination in Croatia famous for it's great cuisine especially in popular agro-touristic destinations - small villages in inner part of Istrian peninsula.
Istria (Croatian: Istra), is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula
is located at the head of the Adriatic between the Gulf of Trieste and the Bay of
Kvarner. It is shared by three countries: Croatia, Slovenia and Italy.
The geographical features of Istria include Ucka mountain, the rivers Dragonja,
Mirna, Pazincica and Rasa, and the Lim bay. Istria lies in three countries: Croatia,
Slovenia and Italy. The largest portion is in Croatia. Important towns in Istria
county include Pula, Porec, Rovinj, Pazin, Labin, Umag, Motovun, Buzet and Buje, and
the smaller towns of Visnjan, Roc and Hum.
Istria is well known for it's top quality vines, especially Malvazija and Teran and also for great food which is mixture of Croatian and Italian cuisine.
